Apple Watch Series 7 clones show up in China, show off the rumored flat edges

There are some changes in hardware design expected for the iPhone 13 lineup this year, with rumors leaning towards a slightly smaller notch. However, it certainly sounds like the Apple Watch Series 7 is going to see the majority of changes this time around. If the rumors pan out, the newest smartwatch will make several improvements to the design.

We’ve seen renders of what the new Apple Watch Series 7 may look like, including CAD-based visuals. And now, thanks to Twitter user Majin Bu, we’ve got a look at what the new smartwatch may look like out there in the wild. Albeit a little rough around the edges, though. It’s not a secret that clones of devices, especially those based on Apple products, aren’t made with the same precision and care. Still, as you can see from the images below, we can certainly see what Apple’s going for this time around.

These clones are more than likely based on those same CAD renders we’ve seen in the past. That being said, it’s possible Apple may have made some changes for the final product. We’ll just have to wait until the big unveiling before we know for sure.

As for the clones, we get to see the flat edges we’ve heard so much about. This brings the Apple Watch lineup more closely in line with the other mobile products Apple has been releasing over the last several years. It offers a more iPad Pro/iPhone 12 look, for example. Apple’s able to keep the same display thanks to this design, so we’re not adopting a circular screen just yet (or maybe ever). That display is going to see a change, though, based on the rumor mill. Apple is said to be shrinking the display bezels, so we could get a slightly larger screen this year, too.

Which would certainly make a change in case size make even more sense. We recently heard that Apple is going to increase the overall case size to 41mm and 45mm this year. There will also be a faster processor under the hood, and improved ultra-wideband (UWB) functionality as well.

So, what do you think of this design? Are you already planning on upgrading because of it? Or will you be skipping this year’s model?
